In partnership with Imperial Oil, Indspire has funding available for First Nation and Métis students specifically from your community who are enrolled in the following programs at any accredited post-secondary institution across Canada, (i.e. college, university, technical college, or apprenticeship programs).
There is also a preference to students studying in the following academic programs: a. Degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education (STEM), geology, geophysics, chemistry, and computer science. b. Degrees in business, commerce, and accounting. c.Diploma technology programs including: petroleum, laboratory, environmental, instrumentation, power engineering, and chemical engineering technology. d. Or other programs related to the oil and gas business.
There are also Awards for the ASTT Program for: First Nations, Inuit and Metis students who are enrolled, or will be enrolled, in qualified programs including the following: a. General education diploma b. Diploma and certificate programs in oil and gas, trades and technology fields c. Applied diploma or degree programs d. Academic upgrading or preparation e. Pre-trades training f. Apprenticeship education programs and pre-employment training in Canada. g. Preference to be given to the following trades: i. Heavy equipment technician/mechanic ii. Millwright iii. Electrician iv. Instrumentation technician v. Pipefitter/steamfitter Of course, students who meet the eligibility criteria for other Indspire scholarships and bursaries will be assessed and potentially funded accordingly.
